Setting up your first workspace
Create your workspace, choose a chart of accounts, and configure GST.
A workspace is the container for everything in Ledgable: your chart of accounts, transactions, contacts, invoices, and reports. Most sole traders need only one. Accountants will create one workspace per client.
Creating the workspace
Choosing a chart of accounts
Ledgable seeds a default Australian SMB chart of accounts when you create a workspace. If you have an existing chart from another platform you want to bring across, you can:
You can change accounts later, but adding them upfront makes AI categorisation more accurate from day one.
GST registration setting
If your business is GST-registered (revenue > $75k AUD/year, or voluntarily registered):
Ledgable uses this setting to decide which transactions show GST suggestions and which BAS workflows are available.
